How Mundial Academy scoring & modes work
Modes
Pre-World Cup delivers random ten-question sets filtered by Geography, Football or Mixed themes. Pick a theme before you start so distractors stay coherent—Geography overweight FLAG_IDENTIFY, CAPITAL and CONTINENT_LOCATE, while Football emphasises FEDERATION, WC_TROPHY_COUNT and WC_CHAMPION_YEAR. Match Day locks trivia until the calendar day of a seeded fixture, then asks about both opponents, venues and tournament context.
You can play anonymously; signing in posts scores to the leaderboard when you want friendly competition. Sessions survive refresh on the same device until you finish or abandon them.
Real question-type examples
Geography mode might show a flag image and ask Which country does this flag belong to?—that is FLAG_IDENTIFY. A silhouette map triggers COUNTRY_SHAPE. Football mode can ask How many FIFA World Cups has Brazil won? under WC_TROPHY_COUNT, or Which confederation includes Japan and South Korea? for FEDERATION. Mixed sets sprinkle GROUP_MEMBERSHIP (Which nation shares Group A with Germany?) and curated FOOTBALL_TRIVIA such as Which three countries co-host the 2026 FIFA World Cup?
- CAPITAL: four cities, one belongs to the nation in the clue.
- WC_HOST: match a tournament year to the correct host nation or nations.
- KIT_IDENTIFY: recognise a national shirt when stars and stripes blur together.
- NT_TOP_SCORER: link a famous goal scorer to their country for a given era.
Scoring and pacing
Correct answers earn base points plus speed bonuses; streak multipliers reward consistency across the ten-question set. Read explanations after each reveal—they often mention federation or capital facts repeated later in the same session. Desktop players can press number keys 1–4 to answer and Enter to advance for rapid revision before live matches.
Study tips that transfer to quizzes
Start on the Countries hub for ten minutes, then run one Geography quiz and one Football quiz. Log misses by question type, not just country—if you miss two CAPITAL prompts, drill West African cities on the map instead of rereading trophy lists. Before a Match Day unlock, skim both opponents' country pages for group letter, confederation and recent venue strings on Match Day.
Alternate themes daily: Mixed on Monday exposes weak links; Football on Wednesday rebuilds confidence; Geography on Friday keeps flag memory fresh. Short, repeated sessions beat marathon cramming the night before kickoff.
When you get stuck
If four options feel equally plausible, eliminate by federation first, then continent, then trophy count. Explanations after each answer often restate the fact you needed—copy that line into a notes app if you miss twice in one week. Hard difficulty 3 items may combine FAMOUS_LANDMARK with a country shape; when that happens, visit the nation on the map immediately after the reveal to cement the visual link.
